An alleged heroin syndicate ringleader has been nabbed in a police operation in south-east Melbourne.
The 49-year-old man was one of three people arrested in Springvale this week.
Officers stormed a business and factory on Bando Road and a home in Keysborough on Wednesday and allegedly seized $40,000 worth of heroin, $35,000 of meth, almost $45,000 in cash, mobile phones and a cutting agent.
A car, documents and identification, including passports and security badges, all believed to have been allegedly stolen, were also seized.
Police said the 49-year-old alleged ringleader was arrested at a home on Princeton Drive and was charged with trafficking commercial quantities of heroin and methylamphetamine.
He appeared in court earlier this week and was remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance in September.
Two other men were also arrested at the business and questioned. They have since been released.
A search of another Springvale property on Thursday led to officers to finding ecstasy, meth and marijuarna.
Two men, aged 28 and 33, were charged and bailed ahead of their court date in September while a woman, 25, was issued with a drug diversion.
“We have made a significant number of arrests relating to this drug in the local area; getting such a dangerous substance off our streets is something we take really seriously,” Detective Senior Sergeant Jarrod Dwyer said.
