The young woman crushed to death by a falling tree in Adelaide has been identified as an international student from Indonesia with a love of cycling.
Alifia Soeryo, 22, was sitting under a gum tree at the University of Adelaide’s soccer ground on War Memorial Dr when part of the trunk collapsed about 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services attempted to revive Ms Soeryo – known by the nickname Fia – but she could not be saved.
The freak accident victim’s Instagram profile has been flooded with hundreds of tributes from friends – many of whom were in total disbelief.
‘I’ll miss your random replies to my (Instagram) story, I’ll miss your sweetest words and support, I’ll miss you forever Fi’,’ one mate said.

Ms Soeryo arrived in Adelaide to study just a year ago.
She was remembered by friends as a keen sportswoman and a huge Taylor Swift fan
Adelaide Lord Mayor Dr Jane Lomax-Smith described the horror incident as ‘shocking’.
‘Council staff are assisting authorities at the scene, and we are doing our best to determine what has happened,’ she told 7News.
Authorities told Nine News that the tree was recently checked by the local council .
