If the first week and a half of the campaign is anything to go by, there are a few themes you can expect to hear plenty about from either leader.

Let’s start with Albanese.

If you’ve caught sight of the prime minister over the last 12 days, odds are you’ve seen him waving around his Medicare card.

Health is one of the key pillars of the government’s campaign, to the point where Medicare-green branding at press conferences has been as common as Labor-red signs, so we can expect to hear Albanese talking about boosts to public health, as well as criticising Dutton’s record as health minister.

The prime minister is also all but certain to bring up the surprise tax cuts included in last month’s budget, which the opposition has pledged to repeal, and we can also expect to hear about work-from-home rights after Dutton’s backflip on his previous promise to force public servants back to the office yesterday.
