Jarod Henderson was driving along Whites Road at Paralowie in his Ford Falcon earlier this week when a black Volvo drove up from behind.
Henderson said he beeped his horn in annoyance when the Volvo overtook him dangerously.
“He almost took out my front end and I honked on my horn for a few seconds, I was a bit annoyed,” Henderson said.
“He jumped on the brake, came to a complete stop and jumped out.”
Henderson’s rear passenger window and windshield were smashed with an axe.
“I just put my head down and my partner, we both put our heads down,” Henderson said.
“[He] put one straight through my window. My head’s right behind here,” he said gesturing to the windshield.
“People are crazy carrying stuff like that in their car. It makes me not want to drive.”
CCTV footage showed the two cars driving along the street moments before the attack.
Henderson’s mother said the situation was scary.
“As a mum, getting a phone call that someone’s attacked your son’s car with an axe is pretty scary,” Felicity Henderson said.
Police are investigating and urged witnesses to come forward.
