Aaron Judge and Mike Trout aren’t equals anymore

Mike Trout turns 33 Wednesday in what should still be the prime of his career.

Instead, it’s become increasingly clear Trout’s prime ended in 2019, not long after he signed a 12-year, $426.5 million deal to remain with the Angels.

By that point, Trout had seven straight top-4 MVP finishes, and he went on to win his third AL MVP award that season.

But instead of the center fielder leading the Angels into The Bronx this week, where he could have gone head-to-head against Aaron Judge, Trout is back on the IL and will miss the rest of the season following a second tear to the meniscus in his left knee suffered this year.
