Police received multiple calls reporting a brawl.

Witnesses told 9News it escalated in just a matter of minutes, involving dozens of people.

“I’m not sure exactly what happened exactly,” one man said.

“I believe it was over something, obviously, and yeah, escalated.

“A lot of families were here so it was actually quite sad, to be honest, to be able to see a lot of kids crying.”

Police said their inquiries were ongoing.

“Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command arrived and were told a group were fighting before leaving the scene prior to police arrival,” they said in a statement.
