‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ May End After Season 5

9-1-1: Lone Star may come to an end after its 12-episode fifth season airs this fall.

While production on the Fox scripted drama is underway, Deadline reports that series regular Sierra McClain has left the series following some cast renegotiation drama, contributing to growing speculation that the series will wrap with the forthcoming season.

McClain, who stars as 9-1-1 operator Grace Ryder, was allegedly presented with a “take it or leave it” offer with regard to her contract and ultimately decided the latter.

Back in May, Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade told Deadline that there was hope the network would renew the show after Season 5 aired. The renewal decision, however, will likely be made before the fall premiere.

“Lone Star was not on the schedule this year because of the strike, and we’re really looking forward to getting it back on in the fall,” said Wade during Fox’s upfront call at the time. “We are excited about the new season. We’re going to see how that goes as always, and then make decisions on that about the future of that franchise.”

It has also been reported that Robyn Lively, who stars as Judd’s (Jim Parrack) ex-Marlene Harris on the show, previously shared in a now-deleted Instagram post in tribute to the “final season” of the series.

“So excited to be a part of @911lonestar’s final season!! What a ride it’s been!,” read the post.

9-1-1: Lone Star is a spinoff of 9-1-1 (which moved to ABC) and centers on Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) who captains an Austin, Texas firehouse alongside his son, T.K. (Ronen Rubenstein).

In addition to Lowe, Rubinstein, Parrack, and McClain, the series stars Gina Torres, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael Silva, Julian Works, Kelsey Yates, Skyler Yates, and Brianna Baker.

You can currently stream all four seasons of 9-1-1: Lone Star on Hulu.
