BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (WLS) — Police in Buffalo Grove continue to investigate after five people were found dead in a home Wednesday, including two children.

Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek identified the victims as Lilia Kisliak, 67; Andre Kisliak, 39; Vera Kisliak, 36; Vivian Kisliak, 6; and Amelia Kisliak, 4.

Banek said autopsies have been completed on four of the five victims, and so far, all the deaths appeared to be caused by sharp force injuries.

Many questions remain unanswered after the five family members were found inside a home in this quiet subdivision in Buffalo Grove.

Police said around 11 a.m. Wednesday, officers went to a two-story home in the 2800-block of Acadia Terrace after receiving a call for a well-being check for a woman.

After no one came to the door, police said they made forced entry and found five people dead inside.

Baron Harmon has lived in this area for 40 years and stopped to bring flowers to place outside the home. He fondly remembered seeing the children outside every morning.

“I knew there was something up when I didn’t see them out in the morning and I thought well, you know, maybe I thought it was colder, they got a ride to school or something,” Harmon said. “It’s really sad.”

Neighbors said many have never seen anything like this before.

“Eighteen years, my kids grew up here… you never see it, never seen anything like this ever,” Buffalo Grove resident Falguni Patel.

“It’s a shock,” resident Michelle said. “Good area, quiet area. Everyone kind of keeps to themselves, but everyone still knows each other, so it’s just sad. “

Police said their investigation is ongoing, but did confirm the deaths were the result of a domestic-related incident and that there’s no active search for any suspect and no danger to the public.

The Lake County Coroner said they will not release the identities of those that died until their autopsies are complete.

“It’s really sad,” Harmon said. “It was hard to sleep last night. It’s a shame that you say to yourself, ‘Did I miss something? Should I have spotted something?'”

The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting in the investigation.
