18-year-old boy killed, teen girl injured after motorbike collides with minivan in NYC

An 18-year-old boy was killed after the motorbike he was riding on with a 14-year-old girl collided with a minivan at a Bronx intersection Monday evening, cops said.

The boy was riding the two-wheeler east on East 172nd Street with the teen girl in tow around 6:45 p.m. when the pair crashed into a Honda Odyssey traveling north on Metcalf Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood, according to police.

Both teens were thrown from the bike and rushed to Jacobi Hospital.

The older victim succumbed to his injuries while the girl was in stable condition, police said.

The 42-year-old male Honda driver remained at the scene following the crash and no arrests have been made as investigators probe the circumstances that led to the collision.

Photos from the scene show a large crack in the windshield of the Honda and a bike lying on the side of the road.

The identity of the fatal victim was not revealed early Tuesday morning pending family notification.
