1 dead after shooting at Oakbrook Terrace Hilton hotel, police say

Large police presence seen at west suburban hotel, lockdown lifted

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (WLS) — A fatal shooting led to a large police response at the Hilton Suites Hotel in Oakbrook Terrace Saturday night.

Officers from multiple police departments responded to the hotel around 8:30 p.m. at 10 Drury Lane for a report of shots fired, Oakbrook Terrace police said.

A victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. The person was taken to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.

A person of interest was arrested at the scene, police said. Criminal charges have not yet been filed.

No further information about the shooting was immediately available.

Some hotel guests said they were locked out of their rooms for a while overnight.

The hotel told ABC7 that a lockdown was lifted early Sunday.

Police said there is no current danger to the public.
