Cherry blossom, also known as Japanese cherry or Sakura is a flower of many trees of genus Prunus. The tree is commonly found in North America and Europe.
The classification of cherry blossoms varies from period to period and from country to country. In Europe and North America, cherry trees are for ornamental purposes.They are classified into the genus Prunus which consists of almost 400 species.
The flowering time for cherry trees is thought to be affected by global warming and hear island effect of urbanisation.
