A top soap actor in his 20s who was arrested on suspicion of ‘raping a young woman he met at a party’ has had the case against him dropped.
The suspect had been accused of attacking a woman in her 20s after meeting her at a party in London.
He was arrested and bailed but after ‘extensive enquiries’ was informed that the case against him had been dropped. The alleged victim has also been informed.
Detectives interviewed the actor – believed to be a familiar face to millions of viewers – for several hours.

A source told The Sun the news that the case will go no further would come as a ‘huge relief’ to the celebrity.
The Met said: ‘In February 2023, police began an investigation after a woman in her 20s reported she was raped while at a residential address in the Southwark area on 30 December 2022.
‘She was supported by specially trained officers.
‘A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and later bailed.
‘Following extensive enquiries, no further action will be taken and the case has been closed.
‘Both parties have been informed.’
