Aaron Robinson plans to continue running a marathon every day for as long as he can with his dogs

A lot of people like to walk their dogs before work – but one man has taken it a step further and has run a marathon with his two collies every morning for the past two months.

Aaron Robinson, 40, and his dogs Inca and River set out from their home in Newham, east London, just after 3am each day to run 26-mile loops around nearby parks and woodland – with each taking around five hours.

They ran their 68th marathon yesterday and, if verified by Guinness World Records, they will have already set a new men’s record for consecutive marathons – up from the previous top score of 62.

Mr Robinson said the marathons are ‘hard work’ but runs to raise money for the charity he works for, Hope for Justice, which fights human trafficking and modern slavery.

He has to eat an astonishing 6,000 calories every day as he burns off 3,500 calories on each marathon.

Mr Robinson said: ‘It’s quite hard to get enough sleep, get enough calories in and then go to work afterwards.

‘You don’t really recover 100 per cent before you start the next one.’

Two months into the challenge, the continuous exertion is taking its toll.

Mr Robinson said: ‘The victims of modern slavery and human trafficking – they can’t run away. So I can say, “actually it’s really hard to run them”, but it’s nothing compared to what they’re going through so that keeps it in perspective.’

Mr Robinson plans to continue running a marathon every day for as long as he can with his dogs. As of yesterday he had raised more than £1,600 for charity.
