Her final text contained just a single word, but it haunts Jean Hanlon's (pictured) family to this day. 'Help', the message read.

A school has been plunged into lockdown following reports of an armed motorcyclist in the area.

Police received reports a man with his face covered and riding a black, red and white dirt bike was acting suspiciously around the suburb of Stratton, in Perth’s east at about 11am on Monday.

At least one school in the area has gone into lockdown, while parents at another school, St Anthony’s, received a message saying students would be kept inside during lunch, the West Australian reported.

‘Please be advised that the children are being kept inside for lunchtime today and the Year 5 cross country event has been postponed,’ the text said.

‘We will advise you by 2.30pm if there are any changes to our current pick up arrangements.’
