Her final text contained just a single word, but it haunts Jean Hanlon's (pictured) family to this day. 'Help', the message read.

The 16-year-old boy who was stabbed to death at a birthday party on Saturday night has been pictured.

Micheal Roynon, locally known as aspiring drill rapper ‘Mikey’ or ‘YM,’ was attacked during the bash that locals say was crashed by a 200-strong mob after being advertised on social media.

His injuries were so severe that he died at the scene at the house in the leafy suburb of Weston, near Bath, just after 11pm on Saturday night. A 35-year-old woman who was also injured during the attack was later released from Royal United Hospital.

A total of 11 teens, including nine boys and two girls, all aged between 15 and 17 were arrested on suspicion of his murder and remain in police custody.

On Sunday, shocked family and friends of the victim, who was from Bristol and had just finished his GCSE exams, attended a special tribute for the ‘kind and thoughtful soul’ where helium-filled balloons were released into the air.

His boss Craig Sawyer said: ‘He was a great lad with a great heart. He was an amazing lad and all my customers loved him.

‘He used to ring me before school and after school to work, he was a hard worker. All my customers loved him and will miss his smile and politeness.

‘He was due to start full time from today, as he’s just done his GCSEs, which he was looking forward to.’

One family member said: ‘This world is so, so cruel and this was never ever meant to happen. Rest easy my boy.’

Another family member said: ‘Such a cruel world we live in.’

A friend added: ‘He was so loved my so many. Absolutely heartbreaking.’

It reads: ‘As you can imagine his mum and dad are distraught their son will for ever be 16. Mikey was such a kind loving and thoughtful soul who cared so much about his friends and family.

‘He was so funny and fearless. This money will more than likely go towards the expenses his family now need to pay out, loss of earnings, funeral, headstone etc. anything of their choice.’
