A North Carolina man was arrested after allegedly kidnapping a woman he met at a gas station and attempting to kill her ‘for the thrill.’
Hunter Chase Nance, 24, was arrested on charges of false imprisonment and kidnapping on Wednesday after a woman claimed she was attacked at his home.
Nance had only met the unidentified victim hours before when they exchanged contact information at the gas station, according to police.
The victim then went to Nance’s China Grove home where he locked the front door and welcomed her inside by wielding a knife. She was able to grab the knife away from Nance and flee him home while wounding her hands in the process.
Police later arrived to arrest Nance after watching the victim escape from his house. He allegedly told the cops that the woman ‘spoiled’ his plans to mutilate, eat her and leave her remains out on the road where everyone can see.

Horrified neighbors were shocked the incident occurred in their quiet suburban Peaceful Lane neighborhood.
‘It’s a fear,’ Richard Dawson told WHSV. ‘You don’t know who you’re living next to anymore.’
‘It’s unbelievable,’ neighbor Paula Fullbright added. ‘Thank God the girl was strong enough to fight him off and get away.
‘Honestly, I’ve had thoughts go across my mind, “what if he tried to break in my house and get one of my daughters?” That’s terrible that I even have that thought, I wish I hadn’t, but that is the reality of it right now.’
Another neighbor added that the street had lived up to its name prior to the incident.
‘We call is peaceful lane because it’s a peaceful lane,’ the neighbor told WBTV. ‘Nothings ever happened since we’ve been here.’
