The dating coach explained that negging is a form of ’emotional manipulation.’
‘When somebody gives backhanded compliments and comments and insults the other person and tries to disguise them as constructive criticism,’ she said.
Sabrina noted that this can make you feel ‘vulnerable’.

She also revealed that will cause you to ‘question’ yourself.
When you begin to question your self-worth, you may start to believe the insults the manipulator is saying.
The love specialist explained that someone will begin negging others to make themselves feel better and boost their own ego.
‘People that neg usually have really low self-esteem.

While giving examples of negging, she advised her followers to get out of the relationship if their partner is negging them
They feel like they need to put somebody else down, so that other person is constantly trying to seek their approval and that makes them have some self-worth,’ she explained.
According to the dating expert, some examples of negging include, ‘I’m surprised you’re as funny as my ex. You’re a lot smarter than I thought you would be.
‘Your best friend is in great shape, you should take some advice from her. You’re so pretty when you have makeup on.’
Sabrina advised those in relationships with people who use this manipulative tactic to ‘run as fast as f***ing possible.’
‘Nothing you do is going to change them, it’s only going to add fuel to the fire,’ she added.
