A man’s body has been found on Coogee Beach overnight.
Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were called to the scene about 6.30pm on Wednesday.
Police made a public appeal for assistance finding a 54-year-old man who’d told his family he was going for a swim at Maroubra Beach, about 3km south of Coogee Beach, on Saturday.
Police were notified after the man failed to return home on Sunday and a search was initiated.

The body is yet to be formally identified but police are liaising with the man’s family.
