A homeowner who was sworn at by her DoorDash driver for what he deemed to be an insufficient tip has sent a message to the now-redundant delivery man.
News emerged that the driver, Corey, who was given a $5 tip for a $22.78 order, was dropped by the company after giving his thoughts on the gratuity in unsavory fashion.
He told Lacey Purciful, 38, that she had a ‘nice house for a $5 tip,’ which the shocked homeowner could only respond to with: ‘You’re welcome.’
Not taking kindly to that reply, Corey left with a parting ‘f*** you’ as Lacey shut the door.
Now, Lacey has responded to the driver, as she shared a picture of her order receipt.

Lacey Purciful, 38, was shocked and reported the ordeal after Corey, the worker, suggested someone living in a $500,000 home like herself should have been more generous

Lacey shared her order receipt on TikTok, which showed she had given a 22 per cent tip to the driver
Speaking to Inside Edition, she told Corey: ‘If you didn’t like it then I’m sorry, maybe go find a job that pays more.’
She also shared a screen shot of her receipt on her TikTok, saying it was ‘the receipt some have been dying to see!’
The $5 tip for a $22.78 order, for breadsticks and a medium pizza from Pizza Hut, constitutes a 22 per cent tip – way over what is usual for a small order.
People commenting on the clip were amazed by the whole affair.
One said they were a ‘former DD driver. Would never complain about a tip.’
Another admitted: ‘I would tip 2 dollars for a 20 dollar order.’

After the story originally emerged, commenters were already in overwhelming support of the tipper.
One wrote: ‘Tipping is out of control. 5 on 20 is more than enough.’
Some of Lacey’s friends on Facebook also weighed in.
One was especially appalled: ‘WTF?! Obviously he don’t even need the money! Because someone who needs the money/job wouldn’t be risking it over a tip!
‘And you ordered $20 worth of food, what did he expect? A $20 tip? You were way too nice.’
Another added: ‘I laugh harder each time I watch this.. you were so nice and the super calm.’

Instead of getting aggressive in person, the mom-of-two graciously thanked Corey and told him ‘you’re welcome’ before closing the door, despite his aggression on her porch

In addition to firing the short-tempered driver, DoorDash have since given Lacey $80 in credit to spend on future orders.
Their spokesperson told DailyMail.com after the incident: ‘Respectfully asking for a tip is acceptable but abusing or harassing someone is never acceptable.

‘Our rules exist to help ensure everyone who uses our platform – Dashers, customers, merchants – have a safe and enjoyable experience.
