A father who appeared on Channel 5 show The Accused has appeared in court charged with the murder of his daughter.

Kyle Kitchen, 36, is accused of leaving his baby girl Primrose Ivy with severe brain damage after allegedly shaking her when she was eight weeks old on November 3, 2014.

He has now been charged with murder after she died more than six years after the incident, on May 17, 2021.

Kitchen appeared at the Old Bailey today via video-link from HMP Thameside charged with murder.

Prosecutors allege Primrose died because of the injuries her father inflicted six years earlier at their home in Camden, north London.

Kitchen previously appeared on Channel 5 documentary The Accused, which centred around Primrose’s mother.

No plea was entered but a provisional trial date was set for April 9 next year.

Kitchen was remanded into custody to next appear for a hearing on October 9.
