An upset homeowner has planted a homemade sign outside their home outing their neighbour for not picking up their dog’s poo.
The cardboard sign was accompanied by a CCTV image of the dog pooing on a nature strip in Glenside, south-east of Adelaide‘s CBD, while the alleged owner looks in the opposite direction.
The sign was planted at the exact same spot the dog did its business and reads ‘You seem to enjoy leaving your doggos doo-doos on my lawn’.
‘If it happens again, I’ll happily return them,’ it says.
Not picking up a dog’s poo in South Australia used to land the owner a $55 fine, but was increased to $210 in 2019 as a further deterrent for owners.

The CCTV image on the sign shows a man without shoes walking the dog without a lead.
The man turns his back on the dog as it does its business, staring up at the sky in the opposite direction.
An image of the sign was posted to Reddit with the caption: ‘First world problems in leafy Glenside’.
However, many other users quickly jumped on the post to point out how rampant the issue of dog-owners not picking up poo is.
‘Sorry, but dog owners who leave their dog s*** everywhere are the problem, first world or not… Pick your dog s*** up,’ one user wrote.

‘Good on them calling this s*** out – happens far too often in my neighbourhood,’ a second user wrote.
‘Pick up after your dog. Dogs are fantastic pets but sadly most of you dog owners don’t deserve them,’ a third user wrote.
Another user was ‘inspired’ by the sign and was ‘getting ideas about how to manage this happening on my verge now too’.

The incident comes after other dog-poo related incidents were captured on home security cameras.
In February, a dog owner from Sydney’s Sutherland Shire was similarly caught on CCTV leaving their dog’s poo on a neighbour’s front lawn.
The man is seen quickly glancing around the street, looking for witnesses, before squatting down and seemingly pretending to pick up the dog poo from the lawn, never touching the pile.
Earlier that month, a resident of the Unison complex on Longland St, in the Brisbane suburb of Newstead, was warned over their serial habit of throwing their dog’s poo off the balcony.
A local took to a Facebook page to caution the poo-thrower that they are being hunted down, and they were getting close.
‘Whomever is routinely throwing dog poo from their ‘Unison’ balcony to the footpath below on 12 Longland Street, Newstead, your behaviour is absolutely appalling,’ he wrote.
‘When I find out who you are, expect similar treatment, understandably.’
