A four-year-old boy has died at a Center Parcs resort after being pulled from a swimming pool that features wave and rapids.
Emergency services and an air ambulance were scrambled to Center Parcs Longleat Forest, near Warminster, at around 11am this morning.
Despite lifeguards swiftly starting first aid, and the support of first responders a short time later, the boy, aged four, died at the scene.
Staff members were reportedly in ‘floods of tears’ during the incident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: ‘This is not being treated as suspicious. Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this difficult time’
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: ‘Sadly, it’s been confirmed that a four-year-old boy has died following an incident at Center Parcs Longleat Forest near Warminster shortly after 11am this morning (24/12).
‘This is not being treated as suspicious. Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this difficult time.’
Center Parcs said in a statement: ‘We can confirm there has been a serious incident in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise at Longleat Forest this morning and we will update further when it’s appropriate to do so.’
