Sonny Bono is an American Singer, Politician, songwriter, TV personality, and actor. He was a member of the Republican Party and also served Palm Springs, California as their 16th Mayor. He was worth 2 million Dollars when he died at age 62 on January 5, 1998, while skiing at Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe, California. He had not willed any of his fortunes so there was a misunderstanding on the sharing of the properties but finally it was shared among his fourth wife, May Whitaker, and two of his children, Chastity Bono and Christy.
The actor attended Inglewood High School but later dropped out to pursue his music career in 1958. He wrote his first song, “Koko Joe” at age 16.

Bono married on four different occasions. He first married Donna Rankin (1954-1962), and after divorcing Donna, he then married Cher (1964-1975). The politician quit his second marriage and got married again to Susie Coelho in 1981-1984, He finally married Mary Whitaker in 1986 till he died in 1998. All these four marriages yielded four children, Chastity(Chaz) Bono, Chesare Elan Bono, Chianna Maria Bono, and Christine Bono.

He was a Catholic.
There is an interchange in California named after him, he also got a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
