Ghanaian gospel artist Piesie Esther has expressed her desire for VGMA Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif, to join the gospel music community.
Speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, May 8, 2023, Piesie Esther said she was impressed by Black Sherif’s vocal prowess and believed he could use his voice to spread the word of God.
“He has that kind of powerful voice. I love his voice. It is my wish that someday he will come and join me in the gospel,” she said.

Piesie Esther, who won the VGMA Gospel Artiste of the Year award, beat other renowned gospel artists, including Joe Mettle, Perez Muzik, Diana Hamilton, Celestine Donkor, and MOG Music.
She believes that Black Sherif’s talent would enhance the gospel music industry and that he could use his voice to reach a wider audience.
“I think he would be a great addition to the gospel music community,” she said. “He has a lot of talent and he could use his voice to spread the word of God.”
Black Sherif is a Muslim, but Piesie Esther said she believes that music can transcend religious boundaries.

“Music is a universal language,” she said. “It can bring people together, regardless of their religion or background.”
It remains to be seen whether Black Sherif will heed Piesie Esther’s call and join the gospel music community. However, her comments highlight the potential of collaboration between artists from different genres and religions, and the power of music to transcend boundaries.
