Civan Canova was a Turkish stage director, playwright, and actor. He made his film debut in Ylmaz Güney’s 1974 film Arkadaş, which launched his career as an actor.
The following year, he enrolled in the Theater Department of Ankara State Conservatory. He joined the crew of Turkish State Theatres after four years of studies.
In addition to his stage and screen performances, he is well-known for his plays. Canova kept working at the State Theatres.

Civan was married to Açelya Akkoyun. The couple married in 1998. They divorced in 2002 after four years of marriage.

He died after a lengthy battle with lung cancer on 20 August 2022, at the age of 67.
