A Kenyan woman who funded her wedding about 9 years ago, has shared her painful story of betrayal by the man she once thought was her soulmate.
In a heart-wrenching interview with Tuko, woman identified Jane Muthoni revealed the painful betrayal that followed her substantial financial commitment.
According to Jane, she met her now-ex-husband at church in 2013. She revealed that, at that time, he was unemployed, but she was drawn to him because of his humility.
Determined to build a future together, Jane financed their wedding with whopping sum of Ksh500,000 (approximately N6 million), overlooking early warning signs due to her deep affection for him.
During their courtship, Jane’s husband’s family warned her that he lacked seriousness about life, expressing hope that marriage would change him.
Despite these concerns, Jane chose to become the sole financial supporter, managing all expenses and eventually welcoming two children with him.
The betrayal came to light when Jane began receiving distressing photos of her husband with another woman, captured on the very smartphone she had purchased for him.
