Craig Bellamy Bio- Former Welsh footballer Craig Douglas Bellamy was born on July 13, 1979 in Cardiff, Wales.

Bellamy was born to Douglas Bellamy and Angela Bellamy. He reportedly has a sister, but not many details are known about her at this time.

He attended Baden Powell Primary School before moving to Trowbridge Juniors, joining the varsity football team at the age of seven.

Bellamy played as a forward and is currently assistant manager at EFL Championship side Burnley. He made his professional debut at Norwich City in 1996 and joined the team shortly after.

He broke the club’s record transfer fee when he joined Premier League side Coventry City in 2000, although he was relegated in his only season.

He joined Newcastle United the following year, where he helped the club finish in the top four twice in four years.

Bellamy spent the final months of the 2004–05 season on loan at Celtic, winning the Scottish Cup, before falling out with manager Graeme Souness in 2005.

Bellamy returned to the Premier League later that year. He spent a season at both Blackburn Rovers – where he was voted the team’s best player – and Liverpool, where he helped the latter reach the 2007 UEFA Champions League final.

He signed for West Ham United in 2007, but was cut short by injury and moved to Manchester City in 2009. For the 2010–11 campaign, Bellamy moved to the Championship to play on loan for his old team Cardiff City.

He assisted Cardiff to reach the play-offs before their semi-final defeat. The following year, Bellamy returned to Liverpool, where he won the League Cup and reached the FA Cup final in 2012, before returning to Cardiff City permanently in 2012.

Later, under his leadership, Cardiff played in the English Premier League for the first time in more than 50 years.

He spent one more Premier League season with the team before retiring in 2014, breaking the record by scoring for his seventh different team in the division.

Bellamy made his debut for Wales against Jamaica in 1998 at the age of 18 after playing for Wales at various youth levels.

Bellamy made 78 appearances for his nation over the next fifteen years, contributing 19 goals. He served as team captain from 2007 until 2011, when he stepped down due to ongoing illness.

Following the 2014 FIFA World Cup

qualifying campaign, Bellamy announced his retirement from international football. He participated in the 2012 London Olympics as a member of Great Britain’s Olympic team, playing five games and scoring once.

Bobby Robson referred to Bellamy as “the messiest footballer I’ve ever met” after being involved in a number of high-profile incidents involving teammates, managers and members of the public during his career.

Outside of sport, he supports a number of charities and founded his own organization The Craig Bellamy Foundation in Sierra Leone to help underprivileged children by coaching them in football and school.
