Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has lashed out at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) following the seizure of his yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus. The confiscation reportedly came under instructions from the FBI.
During a fiery TikTok Live on Tuesday night, August 5 shortly after EOCO issued an official statement signed by Acting Executive Director Raymond Archer Shatta Wale accused the agency of harassment. He insisted he had no involvement in any form of criminal activity.
The outspoken artist, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, said he bought the luxury vehicle for $150,000 and claimed he had no idea it was connected to any investigation in the United States.
“After everything, Raymond Archer, I go just leave the car for you. Don’t come to my house, don’t invite me. That’s why I bought a new Lamborghini,” he stated.
Downplaying the incident, he emphasized that material things are not worth stressing over. “We all go die and leave these things,” he said. “I only bought another Lamborghini to show say it be just a car.”
Expressing his frustration with local authorities, the “On God” hitmaker hinted at future political ambitions: “One day, I go be president of Ghana.”
Speaking further about the car, he added, “That yellow Lamborghini, I no even want am. People dey talk about car like say na big deal. Before you drive, something fit even happen. Make them take am go America and chop am. I don’t need it. That’s why I got a new one.”
