While Alex Murdaugh is currently facing a murder trial, many users are wondering why the legal advisor is called Alec.

Alex Murdaugh is arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and son

Alex Murdaugh is facing two counts of first-degree murder charges along with two weapon charges. 

Moreover, he has pleaded not guilty to the aforementioned charges and is in the middle of a trial.

Meanwhile, prosecutors claim that Murdaugh shot his 52-year-old wife Maggie Murdaugh, and their 22-year-old son Paul on 7th January.

In addition, Maggie was reportedly gunned down multiple times including one bullet in the back. Paul on the other hand tragically died after being shot in the chest as well as the head.

Besides that, Buster Murdaugh took the stand recently to testify about the time he learned about his mother’s and brother’s death. He confirmed that his father called him to deliver the sad news.

The 26-year-old said, ‘He sounded off, and then he told me that my mom and my brother had been shot.’

In addition, he stated that he drove with his girlfriend to his family estate in Rock Hill, S.C. 

Buster also talked about his father’s reactions when he entered the house.

He added, ‘He was heartbroken. I walked in the door and saw him, gave him a hug… he was destroyed.’

Buster was called to the stand to note that Murdaugh was a loving husband and father who would not intentionally harm his wife and son.

Mike Sutton, a forensic engineer, took the stand before Buster to reveal that Murdaugh could not have shot his wife and son since he was too fallen.

Another pointed out, ‘Hey Rose, little side note to the case- curious if you’ve noticed throughout the trial both Alex’s first name constantly being pronounced ‘Alec’ and the last name “Murdaugh” being pronounced ‘Murdock’…?’
