Shatta Wale In FBI Trouble As ₦310m Lamborghini Is Seized In Ghana

  • Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale, is in the spotlight due to the seizure of his Lamborghini Urus.
  • The luxury SUV, valued at over ₦310 million, was confiscated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
  • The seizure followed a request from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice.

Ghanaian dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, is facing controversy after authorities seized his Lamborghini Urus.

Reports from Ghana indicate that the luxury SUV, valued at over ₦310 million, was confiscated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) following a request from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice. The agencies reportedly suspect that the car was purchased with proceeds from fraudulent activities.

EOCO confirmed in an official statement that the seizure was carried out after a lawful search of the musician’s lavish residence in Trassaco Valley, Accra.

Investigations allegedly linked the 2019 Lamborghini Urus to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a convicted Ghanaian fraudster serving a seven-year sentence in the U.S. for financial crimes. Authorities believe the car is among the assets obtained with the proceeds of Amuah’s illegal dealings.

According to EOCO, Shatta Wale willingly handed over the vehicle, requesting officers to avoid creating a public spectacle. The Lamborghini is currently in EOCO’s custody and will be sent to the U.S. as part of the $4.7 million restitution imposed on Amuah.

Although the incident was initially handled quietly, Shatta Wale later expressed his displeasure in a Facebook post, criticizing EOCO boss Raymond Archer for arriving at his home with armed operatives.

In a now-viral post, the singer wrote:

“Raymond Archer, EOCO Boss, Ibe, you go make NDC go out of power next 4 years. Bringing guns to my house was uncalled for.”
