A Nigerian lawyer expressed frustration online after being fined ₦24,000 by the Lagos State government just seconds after he parked his car by the roadside to investigate a noise coming from the engine.
The incident was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by the lawyer, @MalachyOdo1.
He explained that after hearing a strange sound from his vehicle, he stopped to identify the source and found it was coming from the engine area.
However, shortly after stopping, he discovered he had been fined by the Lagos State government for parking by the roadside.
He wrote:
“You park by the roadside to check out a noise coming from the engine area and the next thing you get is a fine! Lagos IGR no go kpai person.”
