Lady Gaga performs Hold my Hand at the Oscars this year

Lady Gaga delivered a mesmerizing performance of the Oscar-nominated Top Gun: Maverick song Hold My Hand at the 95th Academy Awards.

Moreover, Gaga was initially reported to skip the event since she is busy filming the sequel of Joker: Folie a Deux. But sources confirmed to Variety later that she will perform at the show.

In addition, Gaga opted to wear a simple T-shirt for her Oscars performance. She matched it with a pair of ripped jeans and completed her look with braided hair.

Besides that, the Telephone singer said that the song was ‘deeply personal’ she belted out a stripped-down cover of Hold my Hand.

She mentioned, ‘It’s deeply personal for me. We all need each other. We need a lot of love to walk through this life. We need heroes sometimes. There’s heroes all around us…. You might find that you can be your own hero, even if you feel broken inside.’

Meanwhile, Hold my Hand is a tribute to Top Gun director Tony Scott, who tragically died after jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, Los Angeles in 2012.

Many fans were taken aback by Lady Gaga’s emotional performance at the Oscars this year. Additionally, they took to social media to express their concern over the singer after noticing ‘sadness’ in her eyes:

A user wrote, ‘is lady gaga sick? like not cause of how she looks but like right before she started singing, she was so sad like she had sadness in her eyes if that makes sense?’

However, others were quick to point out Gagaxs struggle with the ‘debilitating illness fibromyalgia’ that causes severe depression:

If you didn’t know, Gaga suffers from a  chronic disease named fibromyalgia that ’causes pain and tenderness throughout the body.’

Besides that, the 36-year-old musician has been vocal about her health struggle with fibromyalgia for around five years.

The House of Gucci star opened up about her condition in an interview with Vogue Magazine in 2018.

She explained, ‘I get so irritated with people who don’t believe fibromyalgia is real. People need to be more compassionate.’
