As the influencer recently discussed non-binary pronouns on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast, Jeffree Star has returned to the limelight. According to Star, pronoun culture has developed from people who are bored, especially during pandemics. In his words, you are not ‘they’ and ‘them,’ you are transgender, male, or female. In addition, he told podcast host Taylor Lewan that using they/them pronouns is just an extra waste of time, saying: People get so mad when I say that. How are you they? What does that even mean? It’s stupid, that’s all I can say. It needs to be told by someone like me. If you say it, it makes you homophonic, you hate gays, you hate trans people. No one hates you. It just seems stupid to you.

Jeffree Star’s comments, however, did not sit well with netizens, as many took to social media to slam him. One netizen tweeted: Sis, you identified as alien at one point, I wonder if they/them are that hard to find. Despite this, Jeffree Star denied being sarcastic when he made the “alien” comment. The backlash against Star intensified as a result of the response. According to one user, by making that alien palette and saying “I am an alien”, you made that your image and shared a story about your grandpa, you were “being sarcastic”?? Surely you didn’t mean that, and now you’re invalidating everyone who felt the same way as you?
I said what I said. It’s not that complicated 💯 https://t.co/g3bI0KuLNi

Makeup Mogul Jeffree Star Doubles Down After The Backlash To Calling Pronouns They/Them Stupid
As a result of backlash from Jeffree Star controversial comments about pronouns, the makeup mogul doubled down on his controversial statement. The ‘Bussin’ With The Boys’ podcast host Jeffree Star has found himself in hot water after recently making remarks about people using they/them pronouns. In a joke, the influencer joked about people making up pronouns during the pandemic because they were bored. You aren’t them or they. You’re transgender – either you’re male or female. When I say that, people get so mad. How are you a ‘they? What does that mean? It’s stupid! Jeffree said on the show. Despite his controversial statement raising many eyebrows online and sparking debate, the beauty guru has since doubled down on social media. Tweets by the account Daily Loud referencing Star’s comments on pronouns were quote-tweeted by Star. I said what I said. Adding the ‘100’ emoji for good measure, he stated that it wasn’t that complicated. Those who agreed with Star received additional backlash from a small Twitch streamer who called them YT girls and soccer moms.
An alien is a NOUN… and clearly I was being sarcastic when I said that.
I honestly feel bad for how stupid some of these people are… I pray for them daily. https://t.co/Jl9DVgGNqT— Jeffree Star (@JeffreeStar) February 22, 2023

As a result, the makeup expert responded with some choice words, pointing out that the D&D streamer had no business attacking others. Making yourself feel better by degrading women’s looks. Jeffree Star retaliated, You are truly disgusting, but your obsession with me is actually frightening… Stop and go outside for a bit, please. Hogwarts Legacy has been surrounded by controversy since its release, sparked by Star’s remarks about nonbinary and transgender people. The Harry Potter game has been boycotted by many because of JK Rowling’s comments on transgender issues. A short 37-second clip of Star slamming they/them pronouns spread on the internet like wildfire as the whole controversy made its way on social media. Meanwhile, a few netizens pulled up a 2017 video in which the YouTuber said: Gender ambiguity can be found in makeup, fashion, sexual identity, gender identity, anything. There were many who quoted the makeup guru and called him out on his current stance.
