More about Hurricane Chris’ murder trial case

Hurricane Chris was taken into custody for killing 32-year-old Danzeria Farris Jr. in June 2020. Subsequently, the rapper allegedly shot Farris several times at a Texaco station on Hearne Avenue near Hollywood Avenue.

Additionally, he was indicted by the Caddo Parish Grand Jury a couple of months later in October.

Furthermore, the trial began on 8th March and took place in a courthouse in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Chris was facing multiple charges including possession of a stolen vehicle that was connected with the murder. In addition, the rapper claimed in the trial that he was acting in self-defense and was only trying to wound the victim.

Besides that, during the closing arguments, prosecutors revealed that Farris was shot six times. While three of the bullets remained in his body, others penetrated him.

Moreover, the prosecution claimed that Chris only shot Farris because he was too close to the $10,000 he had in his car.

Meanwhile, the jury began deliberating the verdict following the closing arguments on Tuesday afternoon. They further announced their decision after 9 pm stating that Chris is found not guilty of all charges.
