Country singer Zach Bryan has garnered significant attention from fans following the release of his mugshot after being arrested in Vinita, Oklahoma on Thursday.

To that end, several accounts have sprung up, clamoring for the image to either get printed on T-shirts as unofficial merchandise or made the cover of his next album. Some users have even gone as far as expressing that the singer’s arrest made him more appealing or attractive to them.

Zach Bryan’s Mugshot Triggered A Positive Reaction From His Avalanche Of Fans

Bryan was arrested on Thursday in his home state of Oklahoma for obstructing an investigation with highway police. The 27-year-old musician was taken into custody but has since been released on bond, as reported by local outlets. 

Soon after the incident occurred, he issued a statement via X confirming and apologizing for the events that unfolded, writing:

“Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said. I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around.”

Concluding the statement, the 27-year-old shared, “Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”

The mugshot itself featured the “Something in the Orange” performer looking straight at the camera while donning a dark blue v-neck shirt over a white round-neck shirt. It quickly became a topic of discussion online, with fans flooding the comment section of an Instagram-post featuring a screenshot of Bryan’s tweet to gush about the shot.

“Please for the love of God make that mugshot an album cover,” one person pleaded, as another agreed, “The mugshot should be the next album cover. We forgive you, king.” 

A third netizen instructed the “Heading South” singer, “Two birds one stone: put your mugshot on a shirt and donate a portion of the proceeds to the OK highway patrol,” and a fourth added, “That mug shots gunna make a great shirt one day.”

A fifth fan gushed, “You literally look STUNNING in your mugshot so truly all is forgiven,” and a sixth consoled Bryan, commenting, “At least you look hot in the mug shot.” Meanwhile, a seventh seemingly made the decision to “make a shirt with your mug shot on it.”

According to News on 6, but shared by ET, online jail records from Craig County show that the arrest took place at approximately 6:40 p.m. local time in Vinita, Oklahoma.

Before his arrest, the “Oklahoma Smokeshow” artist had posted a photo on his Instagram Story, depicting him driving on the road, passing a grassy field with a black dog in the passenger seat. In the caption, he wrote, “On the road again, gonna go see the birds win.”

As for his chart success, which started last year, Bryan’s self-titled album claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart this week. Similarly, his song “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves, secured the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100.

These accomplishments mark important milestones in his career, with the aforementioned track marking the first Hot 100 chart-topper for both artists. Before this significant milestone, the “Burn, Burn, Burn” singer had charted four entries, with one of them reaching the top 10. 

His first charted song, “Something in the Orange,” reached No. 10 in January. Remarkably, it spent a total of 66 weeks on the chart [from May 7, 2022, to August 5, 2023], making it the longest-charting country hit by a solo male in the history of the Billboard charts.

Additionally, the United States Navy veteran received the title of New Male Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May, further solidifying his success in the country music industry.
