A fortnight after Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs’ arrest, his legal representative plans to launch a third petition for his release from prison.
According to court documents obtained by People on Monday, Alexandra Shapiro of Combs’ legal team filed a notice of appeal after Combs was denied bail twice.
On September 16, the music mogul was arrested at a Manhattan hotel.
The following day, a 14-page paper detailing the allegations against him was made public. Combs is accused of orchestrating a number of “freak offs” that prosecutors described as elaborate sex shows. He’s also accused of drugging and sexually assaulting his victims.
On September 18, Combs was denied bail for the second time. He is being imprisoned in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Magistrate Judge Robyn F Tarnofsky, who refused Combs bail, expressed concern about his suspected substance addiction and temper difficulties. She also stated that she didn’t trust him not to harm others.
Meanwhile, Combs, who has pled not guilty to the accusations against him, has been taken from a suicide watch while in jail, according to People. One tipper also told the publication that he had received a visit from his family in prison.
“He is focused and very strong,” a lawyer for Combs told People. “He is concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial.”
Combs’ next court appearance is scheduled for October 9.
