Darwin Nunez has agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, for a move away from Liverpool.
After three inconsistent seasons and just seven goals in 47 appearances last term, the Uruguayan striker has fallen out of favour in Arne Slot’s plans for the club.
Despite initial interest from AC Milan and Napoli, it is Al-Hilal who have made the decisive move.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool and Al-Hilal reached an agreement on Wednesday morning, settling on a transfer fee of around €65 million including bonuses.
Nunez had reportedly made steep salary demands, all of which have been accepted by the Saudi club.
Contractual formalities and medicals are now all that remain before the deal is completed.
Liverpool signed Nunez from Benfica for a fee around £85 million, but his Anfield spell failed to meet expectations.
