Police in Texas are seeking the public’s help finding Jennifer Mendez Olascoaga, a missing 24-year-old teacher’s assistant who could have possibly been victim to foul play.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Olascoaga vanished from Seagoville late last month under what police are calling suspicious circumstances. She was last seen on September 27 on security footage while dropping off a friend at the Creekside mobile home park off Highway 175, near Modene Street in Seagoville.
The following day, Olascoaga’s 2015 Buick Lacrosse was found abandoned off Lawson Road and Milam Road in Mesquite. Police said they found her vehicle less than a mile from the city recycling and waste management property.
Family members said Olascoaga’s wallet was found inside the vehicle, leading them believe she was met with foul play.
“Someone did something to her because she would never leave her wallet,” her brother-in-law, Marco Barroso, told WFAA. “We tried calling her phone, it was off. Her phone is never off.”

While family members were in the process of filing a missing persons report, they say someone sent a text message claiming that the family would never see Olascoaga again.
“Hey do you miss someone? Are you missing someone? You’ll never see her again and won’t find her,” Barroso added, relaying what the message said.
The family added that Olascoaga is not known for this type of behavior and would never leave them in the dark about her whereabouts.
“It was a hint, like, ‘Hey, something’s going on. You know she always makes it home,’” her cousin Litzy Mendez told WFAA. “We just want her back home safe and sound.”
