A Texas woman who allegedly fled to Costa Rico after killing her boyfriend’s love interest last year reportedly turned down a plea deal that could have reduced her prison sentence by decades.
Sources told the Daily Mail that Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza offered accused murderer Kaitlin Armstrong, 35, the plea deal before she tried to escape from custody on Wednesday. Armstrong remains jailed as her trial is expected to start on October 30 for the May 2022 fatal shooting of cyclist Moriah Wilson, 24.
Wilson was killed while staying at a friend’s home in Austin. As CrimeOnline previously reported, Armstrong is believed to have killed Wilson upon learning she slept with her boyfriend, who lied to Armstrong when he went swimming and out to dinner with Wilson shortly before the slaying.

He allegedly also disguised Wilson’s name in his phone to keep Armstrong from knowing he was communicating with her.

Armstrong reportedly traveled to Costa Rico with her sister’s passport after a warrant was issued for her arrest. U.S. Marshals apprehended her 43 days after she left the country. She is believed to have undergone plastic surgery during those 43 days, presumably to hide her identity.
Additional details regarding a possible plea deal were not disclosed as Garza’s office reportedly did not respond to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.
