The dogs were supposed to receive the rabies shots, but instead, the needles ended up in their owner’s eye.
The Miami Police Department arrested 44-year-old Sandra Jimenez for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the eye with the rabies needle, according to an arrest affidavit reviewed by Law&Crime.
Officers responded around 10 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 500 block of Northeast 62nd Street for reports of a stabbing. The victim told cops he and his girlfriend of eight years had an ongoing argument about him “looking at other women.” After they returned home, the victim was lying down on the couch when Jimenez allegedly jumped on top of him with the two rabies needles and stuck them in his eye.

Jimenez allegedly pierced the victim’s right eyelid. She left the home after she realized what she did, the affidavit said. The victim called police and paramedics rushed him to the hospital. He gave detectives a description of Jimenez and the vehicle she drove.
Officers found Jimenez sleeping inside the car outside the scene of the crime, the affidavit said. She allegedly claimed to detectives her boyfriend’s injury was self-inflicted.
She was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery and taken to jail. Jimenez has since bonded out and is under house arrest, records show.
Her arraignment hearing is scheduled for Dec. 26. She has pleaded not guilty.
Her court-appointed attorney did not immediately respond to Law&Crime’s request for comment.
