A Texas woman who vanished in June was found dead in her boyfriend’s home on Sunday.
According to KDFW, McKinney police were executing a search warrant at Chad Stevens’ home when they discovered Heather Schwab’s body in a refrigerator wrapped in plastic. Schwab’s mother reported her missing in June, though she said he had not seen her daughter in a year due to disagreements about various issues — including Schwab’s drug use.
KDFW reported that Schwab’s mother contacted cops again in early November, alleging that Stevens’ ex-wife said that Stevens killed her missing daughter and buried her in his backyard.

Stevens’ ex-wife and daughter told investigators that they called Stevens to inform him that he would be a grandfather. He allegedly threatened to kill his daughter’s unborn baby, leading the daughter to tell him to be careful with his words as Schwab is still missing.

“Oh, so you think I killed her?” Stevens responded, according to KDFW.
Before executing a search warrant at Stevens’ home, police reportedly used a drone and noticed several irregularities with
Stevens’ backyard. An arrest affidavit detailed how the only entry to Stevens’ kitchen “had been suspiciously closed and concealed from the remainder of the resident with a piece of sheetrock.”
After Schwab was found dead, Stevens allegedly admitted to concealing her body after she died in July. Stevens provided multiple stories before claiming Schwab died days after falling in the shower and hitting her head, KDFW reported.
However, Stevens’ neighbors told the news outlet that he told them she died of cancer.
Stevens was arrested at the scene and charged with assault causing bodily injury. Additional charges are forthcoming depending on the medical examiner’s determination.
