A 26-year-old woman led police in California on a wild car chase Monday night, crashing into squad cars and trees before eventually abandoning the vehicle in the middle of a busy highway and fleeing on foot toward a Denny’s restaurant. She reportedly lost her wig in the process.
Local Fox affiliate KTTV, who first caught the chase with its SkyFox news cameras, aptly compared the bizarre pursuit to “Frogger” the popular video game that forces the player to scurry across busy pathways without being hit by any oncoming obstacles.
The driver was identified as Niqwayzh Green, according to local ABC affiliate KABC. A request for comment from the Corona Police Department was not immediately returned to Law&Crime on Tuesday.

Green was reportedly cornered by at least three police cars while she was in a vehicle situated in a parking lot in the Southern California town. When she tried to back up to escape, video footage shows the suspected woman, Green, slamming into a police car before driving through two tall trees in the parking lot to flee. She is then accused of continuing to evade police when ramming through a chain link fence before careening toward the 91 Freeway through LA.

Police said Green drove the car on the wrong side of the freeway next, and footage shows the suspect driving erratically as a ladder drags along the pavement and the car rockets down the highway as cars going in the opposite direction pass. Before long, the suspect is seen exiting the vehicle and taking off on foot to cross the busy freeway.
She is seen climbing over a low divider wall at one point and narrowly navigating oncoming traffic.

Once off the freeway, the suspect is seen taking off towards a nearby Denny’s restaurant and bursting inside, her wig falling off as she fled.
The local news station also interviewed an employee inside the Denny’s who said he watched a woman burst in and wave what he thought to be a gun in the air. The employee said one person was in the restaurant at the time.

“She ran in, flashed a gun and ran out to the back,” the man said. “The cops came in right away after it. It looked like a gun… I’m assuming it was a gun.”
Green was arrested and taken away in an ambulance after a stand-off with officers.
She is reportedly being charged with evading, assault with a deadly weapon against police officers and possession of stolen property. Police told ABC she was already out on parole for burglary. It is unclear if she has legal representation.
