A woman stabbed her boyfriend twice with a kitchen knife after she flew into a rage when he used up the last of the milk to make her a cup of tea, a court heard.
Melissa Eynon, 32, of Hill Street in Haverfordwest, south Wales attacked her partner with the four-inch blade after she came downstairs to find an empty carton of milk, Swansea Crown Court was told.
The court heard the couple – who had been together around six months – woke together in the afternoon of February 3, before he went downstairs to make himself a bowl of cereal and her cup of tea.
When Eynon went downstairs she then saw that they had run out of milk.
Prosecutor Hannah George said Eynon picked up a kitchen knife and moved for her partner, who tried to protect his face from the attack with his hands.

The court heard that Eynon first stabbed him in the hand and then in the right forearm – with the knife lodging in his arm.
‘After she stabbed him, she smirked,’ Ms George told the court.
Eynon’s partner was bleeding heavily after pulling out the knife, but did not seek medical help as he was worried about what would happen to Eynon’s daughter if he reported the incident.
Instead, he left and went to a shop to have his wound cleaned and bandaged – then headed to Morrisons to pick up more milk.
When he returned home, he tried to calm Eynon down, but was unsuccessful.
Ms George told Swansea Crown Court that Eynon had been in a relationship with her partner for around six months.
‘Both recognise the relationship was difficult and volatile at times,’ she said.
Three days later, on February 6, he reported the incident to the police.
The court heard that when officers went to Eynon’s home there was ‘a strong smell of bleach’ coming from the kitchen.
They noted that the kitchen floor was significantly cleaner than other rooms in the house and the knife had been washed up and was on the drying rack.
Police officers also noticed spots of blood in the kitchen and found a pair of bloodstained pyjamas.

‘I would’ve stabbed him a long time ago if I was going to stab him,’ Eynon told police officers

In her interview with the force, Eynon accepted that she was holding a knife, but claimed she was cutting bagels – and denied stabbing her partner.
Eynon told police: ‘I would’ve stabbed him a long time ago if I was going to stab him.’
She claimed that he ‘took the p***’ out of her, lived with her rent-free and had been unfaithful.
Eynon, of Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, pleaded guilty to an offence of unlawful wounding.
James Hartson, defending, described the couple’s relationship as ‘not just volatile but something that was completely toxic,’ and added that the incident was ‘impulsive and short-lived’.
‘She has expressed remorse, despite the nature of their relationship,’ Mr Hartson said.
Recorder Greg Bull KC told Eynon: ‘I accept you had a torrid history with a former partner and things came to a head on that occasion when he had used your milk.
‘However, if we all took knives to our partners for drinking too much milk, the world would be in a sorry state.’
Recorder Bull sentenced Eynon to 13 months and two weeks, suspended for 18 months.
Eynon must complete 150 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
