Washington State Couple Plead Guilty to Killing Daughter’s Ex They Mistakenly Believed Sold Her Into Sex Trafficking

A Washington state couple was allowed to plead guilty this week to killing their daugther’s ex-boyfriend and leaving is body in the trunk of a car for a year.

John Eisenman pleaded guilty to first degree murder, and his fiancee, Brenda Kross, pleaded guilty to manslaughter, reduced from first degree murder, KREM reported.

Eisenman reportedly admitted abducting Andrew Sorenson, 19, in November 2020, ziptieing his wrists and then beating him over the head with a cinder block and stabbing him, CrimeOnline reported. He kept the body in the car for a year until it was located, and police traced the vehicle to Eisenman.

Kross was arrested when she reportedly admitted to a co-worker that she helped kill Sorenson.

Eisenman told police he killed the teen because Sorenson sold his underage daughter into a sex trafficking ring. Spokane Police, however, said there was no evidence Sorenson sex-trafficked his ex-girlfriend, KREM said.

The judge read Kross’s statement of guilt, acknowledging there was no evidence of sex trafficking, before accepting her reduced plea.

Prosecutors have agreed to recommend 22 years instead of life for Eisenman and eight years with three years community custody for Kross.

Sorenson’s family was in the courtroom for the sentencing but did not speak. They are expected to provide victim impact statements at a sentencing hearing in January.
