‘Wanton Endangerment’ Charges for Kentucky Couple After Baby Found in Maggot-Infested Stroller

A Kentucky couple was arrested earlier this month after police found their baby in a maggot-infested stroller.

The Madisonville Police Department said it received a call about suspicious people who appeared intoxicated walking down the street with a baby stroller, WFIE reported.

Police approached the couple, later identified as Thomas Parker and Tiffany McCord, but Parker ran into an abandoned house and then fled from officers.

The officers arrested McCord after finding drugs, drug paraphernalia, and medications for the baby in bags that were attached to the stroller.

Officers called an ambulance to the scene for the baby’s medical needs after McCord’s arrest. When the baby was picked up, they found the child sitting on a pile of live maggots.

Parker was arrested the following day on an outstanding warrant. He told police he is the father of the child and helps McCord care for them. He also told police he was asked to clean the stroller but only cleaned part of it.

Both Parker and McCord denied owning any of the drugs or drug related items.

Parker has been charged with wanton endangerment, and McCord’s charges include wanton endangerment, drug trafficking, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
