A train with 50 passengers on board has smashed into a trailer on a level crossing in Sydney.
Emergency services were called to the tracks in Vineyard, in the city’s northwest, at about 5am on Thursday after the train struck the trailer at low speed.
Nobody on board was injured and the train driver was checked by paramedics as a precaution.
Police are investigating how the trailer came to be on the tracks.
Commuters have been told trains aren’t running along the T1 Western Line between Riverstone and Mulgrave.
‘We are arranging replacement buses, but none are available right now. Please delay your travel if possible. Get in touch if you need help travelling,’ Sydney Trains tweeted.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
