UPDATE: NY Police Arrest Man Weeks After House Fire, ‘Heinous’ Stabbing Deaths of Family of Four

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the family in Irondequoit, New York, who were found stabbed to death in their burned home.

Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano, 34, from the Dominican Republic, was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree murder, according to WHAM.

As previously reported by CrimeOnline, Irondequoit Police said a 911 call came in just before 5:30 a.m. on August 31. Police and fire personnel from several jurisdictions responded to an early morning house fire and quickly brought the blaze under control.

Once the fire was out, authorities found multiple individuals dead inside the structure.

Fraime Ubaldo, 30, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2, were found brutally stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest with a sharp object, according to WHAM.

“This was a horrific scene,” Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters said.

“It seems like this family was well-liked and active in their community, so obviously my condolences go out to their family, friends, and neighbors who had to suffer through this,” Assistant District Attorney Perry Duckles said.

Duckles believes authorities are still searching for another person, “one other actor,” according to The New York Post.

The New York Post reported that Pimentel-Soriano entered the United States illegally by obtaining fake New York identification in Puerto Rico. “With that identification, he was free to travel from Puerto Rico to the United States mainland,” the department said.

An arrest warrant was issued by the Dominican Republic National Police on September 6 for Pimentel-Soriano in connection with a 2019 murder in the Dominican Republic.

According to jail records, Pimentel-Soriano is being held without bail at the Monroe County Jail on second-degree murder charges.
