Two teenage brothers have appeared in court accused of murdering a ‘loved father’. 

Aaron Parrington was stabbed to death in Ellacombe Church Road, Torquay, on Sunday, September 17. 

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police and an air ambulance was deployed at 3.30pm to desperately try to save his life, but the 34-year-old was declared dead at the scene.

Brothers Ben Milton, 18, and Jack Milton, 19, both of Ellacombe Church Road, were charged with his murder and appeared at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. 

Standing in the dock wearing custody issued grey tracksuits, the pair only spoke to confirm their names, date of birth, and address, reported DevonLive.

The brothers were remanded in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court on Friday.

The case was adjourned by Judge Robert Linford until October 27 for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the same court.

He set a provisional trial date of March 18 next year, reported the Mid-Devon Advertiser. 

Floral tributes were left on the roadside where Mr Parrington died, while his family paid a heartfelt tribute. 

In a statement released through the police force, they said: ‘He was a loved father and son, who will be greatly missed. Although we are grateful for the support, we would ask that you respect our privacy at this time.’

Detectives set up a major incident public portal online where information can be provided by members of the public.
