Per Us Weekly, Todd and Julie Chrisley have filed a request for a new trial and possible acquittal. In court documents, the couple pointed the blame at IRS Revenue Officer Betty Carter for allegedly lying about the pair owing taxes. The request also alleges that evidence admitted into court was in violation of the Fourth Amendment and should be excluded from the trial. The attorneys for the two also requested a potential acquittal altogether, claiming there was no evidence of Julie participating “in any of the specifically alleged bank frauds.” There has been no word on these requests yet.

Nonetheless, Todd and Julie appear to be moving forward the best they can for now. They are continuing to record new episodes of their podcast. According to The Wrap, “Chrisley Knows Best” will also continue to air on USA and was even picked up for another season prior to the trial, though production is not currently underway. In the midst of this current scandal, time will only tell what lies ahead for Todd and Julie and their family.
