Lori Vallow Daybell’s trial abruptly came to a close on Wednesday due to unforeseen circumstances. Court will resume on Thursday.
In a statement issued to East Idaho News, the prosecution team said:
“There has been a death in the family of one of the prosecutor’s lead attorneys. The Court and defense have been gracious in allowing the prosecution to adjust to this personal situation.”
The statement did not disclose who the death affected and if it will result in a change in the team prosecuting Vallow Daybell. So far, the prosecution has questioned J.J. Vallow’s grandmother, a detective who discovered Vallow and Tylee Ryan’s remains, and an investigator who looked into the death of Tammy Daybell, who is Vallow Daybell’s husband’s first wife.
Vallow Daybell, along with her husband Chad Daybell, are charged with killing Vallow, Ryan, and Tammy in Idaho in 2019. Chad Daybell will stand trial separately from Vallow Daybell. In Arizona, Vallow Daybell is charged with conspiring to kill her first husband, who was fatally shot by her late brother in 2019.
